Hi, I am trying to remove the stickers (THX, HDMI, Intel) on my laptop but want to make them resuable should I prefer to have them back? (I recall a technician using some lighter fluid to do it for my printer)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

one word well actually two (Goo Gone) Home - Goo Gone and then if you wanna put them back just use glue again. Lighter Fluid will turn your flameable, considering some of that stuff (laptops mine) can get real hot I'd be worried.

I heard of Goo Gone but it will take some time for it to come to Singapore; I prefer a faster method =X. Will go with this if all else fails.

As for lighter fluid, I thought as long not too much is used and it is quickly cleaned afterwards, there should be no fire hazard issues? (I am really not sure about this)

And how about rubbing alcohol; another method I saw quite often in NBR?

As for gluing them back, what should I use? The surface is metal by the way...

Alcohol will eat the finish on that NP8170, not right away but after the amount of rubbing you need to do to get the sticker residue off. Goo Gone is a great product, too bad it does not get sold in Singapore. I am sure there is an equivalent there, I would try a local auto repair shop. Or find a company that does vehicle graphics, they would have something they use on cars to remove vinyl advertising.

it's safe just use small amounts or use a cloth that's damp with hot water and scrub at the sticker. Really no different as to how you would have use Goo Gone.

And I heard of an eBay shop that makes all those stickers you see on the laptop...

Does anyone have links to them?

I'm also from Singapore. Zippo Lighter Fluid works nicely to remove and you can use glue to restick again. Cost: SGD3.00 at Sim Lim Square.

Nice! You also go to HWZ and/or VRZ?

And what glue can restick? The surface is metal (aluminium)...

Just search Ebay for the sticker you want and it'll probably come up.

Yup, I do. Just use the watery glue and wait for dry. Easy to stick and remove. Even double sided tape can work.

I will go with the double sided tape; sounds more reliable.

Can only get the Intel sticker online; the others are not available. Looks like I have to reuse them.
