Hello,
This is my first post here but I'm a regular visitor. I need some help with my Compaq Presario M2013AP laptop. MODS: I didn't know where else to post this query on this site, this was the closest section I could post into, please move this topic if needed.
I have a 4 year old Compaq Presario M2013AP laptop which has issues with its LCD display. Some time back it started displaying vertical lines all around the display area.

I tried connecting the laptop to an external LCD/monitor and the vertical lines did not appear, therefore ruling out a software or video adapter problems. I was advised by someone that this could most probably be the following:
- The wiring between the base and the display is damaged, often right where it passes through the hinge
- And/or - the circuits in the display assembly are damaged.
Now as I understand, I need to be able to unhook my lcd display from the laptop base and get the lcd panel out of the bezel to be able to replace the
wiring or the lcd panel itself.
I was successfully able to detach the lcd panel (with the bezel) from the laptop base after reading the "Maintenance Manual" for this particular model.

What I was not able to do was to completely remove the lcd from the bezel. The Top, left and right portions can be easily unhooked by pulling them outside, but the bottom part does not come off.

I need to know the proper procedure to get the lcd out of it so that I can replace the wiring/lcd depending upon whats required.
Please help!
Thank you,
CC
