There is a WGT-sticker on the top right corner of my laptop screen and the sticker seems to be attached incredibly tight and impossible to remove. What would be the best way to detach it?

warm water or some non-diluted rubbing alcohol should do the trick.
Just do not use any powerful solvents like Hydrochloric acid, cause that will eat through your laptop lid.

Just go steady. Rub the sticker back and forth with rubbing alcohol/warm water, and it will eventually come off.
If worse comes to worse, you can either scrape parts off with your finger nail, or you can buy a new lid.
I assume you mean laptop lid, and not the physical screen.

Watch out with alcohol it can be much more powerful than most people expect and can create hazing in finishes. The same can be said for fingernails very easy to scratch a finish with.

Try some warm h20 and mild detergent and take your time. If its a vinyl sticker sometimes the heat from even a small lamp aimed at it can soften it enough to break it free.

And of course don't try any of these with the laptop running. :)

I don't known if this helps...
but for cleaning those things, at least in white plastic components I use tooth paste. Yes that's right tooth paste, always worked with no problems

meguires yellow wax for cars... as odd as it may sound i use it to remove any leftover glue for all these stickers on desktops and notebooks and it does it perfectly and does not mark or dull the surface in any way shape or form. available at auto zone or other places..

meguiars makes some of the best automotive waxes and finishes on the market today,
I wouldnt use wd-40 that will potentially eat away at the plastic or discolor the plastic, making an attrocious mark on the laptop lid.

Doesn't sound in the least bit odd - toothpaste is a very gentle abrasive, so it should work on soft(er) things like plastics pretty well.

My solution for getting off leftover goo is to reuse the sticker if I'm not keeping it, or use some sellotape. I hold one end between thumb and index, pressing it down on the area and then tearing it back off, hopefully giving it enough time to adhere to the leftover goo but not the screen again, sometimes it take multiple tries, and I usually do it so fast I can do it once or twice a second. depends on the type of adhesive, sometimes it doesn't work at all. But it's a quick and easy way to get those crappy dvd stickers off that have been on for too long.
