Really new at custom built laptops and was hoping to get some insight.
Current build:
Evoc P775DM3-G 17.3"
17.3" 4K QFHD AUO LED Matte Type Display
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Silicon Lottery Delidded i7-6700k
I'm currently in the market to change out my display. However, through trial and error, I realized my current 4K display utlizes a 40-pin connector and I was told there were no other 40-pin 1080p displays that are compatible with my current build. If that is the case, I was hoping the community can assist me in looking for either a display or a type of 40-pin to 30-pin converter.
Please and thank you in advance and please let me know if you require more information!

Probably needs a different eDP cable only, ask your reseller
Question is why you would WANT to downgrade, other than swapping to a 120hz TN because you like twitch shooters & action games (which is not offered on the P775DM, only a 1080p60 IPS?), the AUO QFHD is an excellent panel
Have you tried DPI scaling and the cleartype wizard to get the desktop useable in 4K?ChanceJackson likes this. -
Down sampling to 1080p from 4K gives you perfect 2:1 scaling with no aliasing artifacts, so if Windows scaling is getting in the way there is no need to swap the panel.
If you do want 120Hz it's a different story.ChanceJackson and alexhawker like this. -
