Just remember, make sure you are using the right car paint, or putting the correct additives in the paint to be used on a laptop since most laptops are plastic.

I have never painted a laptop before, but I use paints enough to know that certain paints should not be used on plastic. The most significant problem with using the wrong paint is that paints intended for plastic have additives in them that allow the paint to flex and withstand impact. While I wouldn't "think" a laptop would flex enough to flake, it is very well possible as some paints simply do not bond well to plastic.

Could paint designed to be used on automotive fiberglass like the stuff used on a corvette work? The paint is designed to take not only the usual weathering but also the flexing of the plastic body.
