I have an E1505, and I think the face of it is nice, but I do want to make it "mine" by personalizing it. My sister tells me stickers will peel off after time, so I should just stick with decals. However, it's a little harder to find decals than it is to find stickers. Does anyone with a longtime experience with stickers on their cover have anything to say that could help me decide if stickers are right for me?
I probably plan on having this notebook for 2 1/2 years.

what kind of stickers? have you considered getting a vinyl 'skin'?
-
^Only skin I know for an E1505 are those quicksnap ones that Dell offers. What about a vinyl skin, though?
Not really sure about "what kind" of stickers. I'm just talking about regular adhesive stickers in general. -
I don't know what kind of stickers you are looking for. I put ATI, Pentium M, and Sound Blaster stickers on my notebook to make it my own, and they stick fine.
-
Depends on where you put them, and what kind of abuse your laptop gets. I've taped a newspaper cartoon on my laptop lid before, and it stayed perfectly for years.

I think as long as the stickers are good quality, and you protect your notebook reasonably well, the stickers will adhere just fine.
I also wanted to personalize my notebook, and thus bought some stickers at stickergiant.com. You can view a photo of my notebook here.
They've only been on the notebook for maybe three months, but so far no problems. I also put two stickers on the palm rest to cover up/prevent further discoloration, and these also appear to be doing fine.
I made sure to clean the surface of the notebook with Windex before applying, and avoided touching the sticky side of the stickers as much as possible.
Good luck if you decide to put something on yours! -
I think the main problem with stickers is that unless they are very high quality you will get dust build up around the edges. After a while as the sticker ages the dust will become more and more prevalent. Then you will want to remove it and by that time the weather will have affected your notebook and the sticker spot will remain obvious for the rest of the life of the notebook.
I say, don't do it. -
I agree with darlich that as the stickers age there will be some kind of dust/grime build up, and that if/when you remove the stickers, the underlying area might look different than the rest of the notebook.
That being said, I don't plan on keeping my notebook for a long time (over three years), and thus am willing to sacrifice these concerns for having a unique and somewhat personalized notebook.
Also, it seems that unless one is hyper-protective of their notebook and cleans it regularly and thoroughly, it will get dirty/discolored/scratched/etc. Even if you do keep your notebook dust/dirt/grime free, this can happen.
I think of my notebook as a tool to be used, and as such, expect that it won't stay in pristine condition for it's entire life. Afterall, it is just a notebook. Most people's cars/trucks cost 10 to 20 times what their notebook cost, and yet they leave them out in the sun, rain, snow, etc.
Just my two cents... -

Ha, I don't think so either, its all good, just my 2 cents.
Do stickers stick well on laptops?
