Hi i am new to this forum so i apolgies if tgis thread is in the wrong place, i am also new to laptop builds however i have built 2 custom pc's before. What i was hoping that some one could help me with is, and i no this is probaly a long shot,

the sepcs of my laptop are very old and i would like to know if there is any way possible i could replace all the internals with new or more powerfull parts, i would like to add a larger capicity hard drive, larger cpu if i can dual core and more ram. I know this is easy to do on a computer but is there any way i can do this on a laptop??

Long answer-Although theoretically it might be possible to upgrade one thing or another, in all likelihood you will run into a limiting factor, based on the fact that the design is ~7 years or so old. The motherboard wasn't designed with today's processors in mind-they didn't exist then. Front side bus speed is lower than what today's machines use, so even in the off chance that you can add more, memory for yesterday's machines costs more than current memory.
Short answer-save your money for a new laptop, unless you just want to spend time and money for little or no positive result.
