This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Well I dunno about you guys, but I found some possibly pretty high performing 18" laptop motherboards at a good price so I bought one to make custom cooling and eventually an aluminum case.
    Its for an Acer 8735g. Not insane specs but it supports core 2 quads and MXM 3.0 B... so I'll see what I can do with it. :)

    I think in general the industry is moving much faster than anyone in this thread has been thinking and the only way we can get anywhere is to grab something by the horns and run with it (so to speak)
