Well, i got my 6000 'top, with all the good internals, but I wish those snap-on covers were free(50 bucksis rather ridiculous), but to make up for the lack of uniqueness, and businessmanish looks, ive decide that i will paint all the white edges myself. Anybody have any cool color ideas.

Honestly, I dont know why you would want to do that. I personally like the silver and white on my brothers i9200. Do what you wish, but you might want to think about it first.

I'd use either black, or something really crazy like green or red. I'd be afraid I'd never get my silver to match the rest of the silver, and besides...monochrome is boring.

I personally want to paint my I6000d like jet black or dark blue with silver mettalic flakes... and then leave the botton same color... basically just be doing the most visual areas... But unfortunately I want to do this on a spare case jsut in case I totally jack up.. This project wont be for awhile till I have the time and space to do said project... college student in an apartment. No lawn space or garage space to do unless you count going to some random field to paint LOL

Another option is to fill in the grooves with something like epoxy and sand it down so it is level with the rest of the lid and then paint over with a solid color so it the lid will be flat across completely...

i quite confident that i know what im doing, for im a student attending art school where i major in industrial design( the design of things like cars, to furniture to electrical devices, like laptops), so first, ill have to find out the material, ie what plastic, and any coating they put, say some scratch resistent stuff, if so sand it down, then prime it and use paint similar to that used in automotive manufacturing. The results, look similar to a new car, but i believe the paint may be a bit more "high maintinece", requiring waxing, and washing. Well, im leaning towards this color
-> [?] and after i finish ill post some pics.

All for my quest to achieve APC2NV!!![ :D]

    That might be cool.[ :)]

Tell me what type of paint you use and how well it works; I might want to do a nice metallic green or something on mine.

you should note that he had problems with the corners chipping. this is going to happen since you're actually painting over the plastic whereas the color on your laptop right now is molded into the plastic.

    caveat emptor

I don't know anything about auto paint, but I've heard it mentioned several times. Otherwise, I would recommend enamel (not acrylic) model paint.

Where do y'all get your snap-on covers from? I have an Acer Aspire 3610 with the 15" screen. Any links?
