Hello there, thats my laptop! Actually im buying an suitcase and im going to barebone mount it in there and replace the stock cooler with two desktop good coolers, the i74810 runs pretty hot on it and im pretty tired of its shared heatpipe with gpu, any tips on how do i remove the screws of the socket to mount or any tips on which good desktop coolers could be more easily modded into it? Thanks in advance!

    Have you already repasted it?

You can just buy new screws, because you will need to, those screws will be way too short to mount a desktop type heatsink, and be carefull, because its easy to crack the dies with a desktop heatsink..

If you are going to mount in, just remove the bottom cover and aim a fan or two to the cpu/gpu and it will run much cooler.

Actually im thinking about remove everything, and mount it inside a briefcase, about the heatsink im thinking about using thermal glue + intel box cooler one on gpu and one on cpu, what do you think? xD

Yeah tried to repaste it but no way, still too hot for me, i want to have a room for some overclocking with the pŕema bios

Thermal epoxy is WAY WAY worse than even toothpaste, that would be a good way to ruin your laptop, removing epoxy without shattering a die would be pretty hard to do..

What do you call very hot?

And what thermal paste did you use?

I call very hot when it makes my room warm enough to stress me out. gpu reaching 85 celsius and processor 98
Tried artic silver, the i7 is too strong for one single fan, im decided for the suitcase mod, as far as i do travel alot it will still allow me to travel with it

Undervolt the CPU, use Kryonaut, or NT-H1, make sure the cpu is making good contact.

Even my crappy Toshiba L50 with a much thinner heatsink can keep the cpu at 80ºC at the full 45Watts(or when neutered to the stock 30Watts, at less than 70ºC).

You prefer to make the laptop a lot less portable than to undervolt and repaste using a better paste?

That heatsink isn't perfect, but it can run cooler than 98ºC..

There are more variables than you may think, specially when im still living in Brazil.

i dont think it will be less portable by using an suitcase, and for me more than 60 celsius is hot enough to think about modding.

Install/download Intel XTU or ThrottleStop, play around with undervolting, its free.

If you just remove the bottom cover and raise the back of the laptop it will run cooler, if you put into a suitcase with bigger heatsinks without fans to move the air around/in/out the case it will heat up just the same.

Its already using an support and already lifted up, the idea is to use coolers not only heatsink.

To fix it i would have to buy from other country the heatsink and also the case from a dead one to fix all problems i have with it, trust me, its just cheaper and easier to build it inside a briefcase with new heatsinks.

Do you have a picture of what you have done to help some the heat issue?
