Does anybody know what material the Clevo M570RU series and its derivatives is constructed from?

I recommend to PM Justin@XoticPC or any other Clevo vendor, they will gladly tell you what you want to know.

FYI, XoticPC actually does custom paint jobs for their notebooks as well.

    Thank you, I'll do that.

With regard to XPC, I'm based in the UK so US suppliers aren't an option, and as far as I know none of the UK suppliers working with this Clevo chassis offer a similar customised paint service.

actually a number of UK'ers have gotten their notebooks through XoticPC and other US sellers.

But I understand what you want. There are a good number of European Clevo sellers... I am not sure which one does paint jobs though.

Most UK'ers usually gets their notebooks through www.rockdirect.com

I worked on the basis that I wanted to buy a Clevo machine and then looked at who supplied them locally (within the UK), having known about Rock and Alienware, but not having known that there were a few smaller suppliers shipping Clevo units. Unfortunately at that time (three or so months ago) Rock was offering a price £500 in excess of the supplier I chose, for a slightly lower spec. Now of course Rock has slightly lowered their pricing, and moved to Penryn units, not that I'm displeased, a bargain is never one for long.

As far as I know, none of the mainstream suppliers here offer customisation of any kind, either.
