Okay, this is my first thread, short and lack of passion, but here you go.

This mod is not rocket Science, just measure out the estimated size and cut out the carbon fibre sticker then apply, of course some degree of accuracy and craftsmenship is required...

This poor thing is pretty scratched

Still got some left overs, applied above the keyboard strips

Followed by reinstating a fresh copy of Vista, this little baby is up and running again

A word of note: I have posted this on another forum but I am the owner of these pictures

looks good, did you have to heat it up?

If you did, were you not worried about damage to the lcd screen from the heat?

Indeed needs some heat for the corner, LCD can take heat upto around 85degrees for operativity but for permanent damage it needs much more, I am blowing hot air mainly onto the carbon fibre's surface, most heat energy is absorbed by the fibre mesh itself if not the plastic case upon the LCD panel itself, it really doesnt harm the LCD panel itself.

Is this Real Carbonfiber or a fake printed decal. Real carbon fiber has a 3d look to it and changes as the angle changes. I am thinking about doing something like this and really like the look for real CF.
I am looking for a good source of real CF decal.

It is vinyl. You could never do this with real carbon fiber.

To do this with real carbon fiber you would have to dissemble it and go through the long tedious (err fun) process.

Basically you would be building a carbon fiber "shell" over the existing plastic.

    Not worth it IMO

But, the OP did a good job with the vinyl

Might be the same place the OP got his, but this guy has never screwed me over, and I've been doing business with his products for quite some time.

NOTE: Also ships internationally, just in case someone isn't CONUS...
