    Hi all, newbie to notebookreview.
I am Douglas from Hong Kong, i was working part time in a notebook repair shop when i was in Uni, so i know little bit about notebook repair and modification.

recently i bought a Acer 1810TZ weeks ago
I think the blue cover is too boring, so i used some 3M CF wrap to decorate it.

In HK, we don't have 3G ver. of 1810TZ, so i bought a MC8781 for it, of coz soldering were involved.

Last but not least, swapped my Wifi link 1000 to Intel 5300 WiFi card

Wow looks awesome, you did a great job applying the vinyl.

I have the gateway version of the 1410 - essentially the same body as your computer model. I put the same vinyl on it too! Great choice and it sure does look nice no? I also put a screen protector on so that my screen is now matte. I'm really digging the all matte - I can't stand glossy stuff.

I went to computer shop to look for a screen protector today, and found the 11.6" protector isn't really 11.6", it left a lot of margin between the frame. So how's yours ?? does it have a lot of margin ?

I actually removed the bezel from the lcd, measured, and got a custom sized one from photodon.com. It fits perfectly, and since it's under the bezel, you can't tell there's a protector on the screen - even at the edges.

That looks amazing!! How did you do that??

I really want to get the 1810tz too, rather than the 1830t even, because of the excellent battery life. However, I cannot STAND glossy finish, and am actually considering getting the newer model simply because of the matte finish (and the 1.3 mp webcam... the 1810tz only has 0.3, correct?)
If this is doable for a newbie like me (one can only hope) then case is solved for me!!

The youtube video doesn't show how the edge is finished on the inside (screen side). It seems that would be the vulnerable area for a messy look, and also for peeling. Can you show us how yours looks on the screen side?
If you end the film on the edge, instead of wrapping it around, then I would expect it to peel eventually, from opening the lid.
