Hi I have a Samsung Q45, which in many ways is an ideal little system. Neat, compact, powerful and fun to use. However it has one fatal flaw and that is that the glossy black lid scratches as soon as even as much as a whiff of dust hits it.

I love the look however, but I am extremely frustrated that I can't use it anywhere outside of a lab type clean room while wearing protective clothing and gloves.

So I was wondering - as bizarre as it sounds - if these was such a thing as a glossy black skin I could use in order to retain the look, while preventing scratches?

I looked at all of the skinning sites I could find - but none of them specifically offered glossy black - and of course it is quite a hard thing to upload to these sites in a custom skin.

To get an idea of the kind of look I am after, this is a reasonably god image:

It really is a high gloss black finish. I would like to preserve this look as much as possible as really there is no point changing something that looks this nice anyway. I am not so keen on using an image - as I can envisage quickly becoming bored with such an image.

Any input anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

Would a stick-on plastic film help to provide protection? The type of material you can get for book covering.

Also, a soft sleeve would help since the greatest risk of scratching is during transport. See the link in my signature to a review of the becase sleeve.

Appy a coat of wax to it or you can get clear skins at shieldzone(don't know how glossy they are tho)
