I just received this M14x R2 today. The soft-touch on the palmrest has gone sticky and the lid is scratched. I'm going to give it a new Orange/Black colour (yes I'm from Australia so we add a u) scheme.
It will also get a RAM upgrade and a new SSD and mSata.
Intel i7 3740MQ, GT 650M, 6gb RAM, 750gb HDD

Just got back from a holiday so I haven’t been able to get much done for the past week.
Here it is all primed and ready for base colour.
I’m just trying to decide whether to go for a flat black palmrest or gloss orange.....

First few coats of base down. Now I have to wait a few days before I can sand any imperfections out and put on a few more light coats.

The lid is finished and reassembled. Just need to polish it up in a few days.
Quick mockup with the Palmrest and chassis (which isn’t finished)
