    this is going to sound kinda strange, but I am trying to figure out how to add addressable RGB to my Clevo laptop. The bottom has a lot of ventilation space, so I could mount LEDs that would be view-able. I am trying to figure out how to install and connect the controller. I have been looking for a guide to do it, or just ideas, and I have found nothing so far. Does anyone here have any ideas? I have a free sata port for 2.5 inch SATA that I am not using, so powering it shouldn't be an issue.

    If you have an empty space about the size of a 2.5" ssd, I would suggest NZXT Hue+. I use them in my desktop rig and it's a complete package along with their free CAM software.

    True. I have been wondering about running a cable through to the outside of the case and into one of the external USB ports. Not the best idea but doable to get a complete RGB solution.

    Possible . I have an SD card reader on my laptop . I think it has an internal USB 2 interface . Maybe I can barely with it to that .

    Extreme option:
    If you or someone you know can solder there's usually free USB connections available, for instance it should be possible to install a small hub and use the fingerprint reader connector. Other options: Camera, WLAN slot and sometimes there's even a free USB connection somewhere. But that's a lot of work using small non-standard connectors. For inspiration look for some old netbook hacks.
