Hi, This is my first post here. I have a hobby repairing laptops (my wife says it's actually NOT repairing laptops). I bought a broken Acer 5740 that had a hot IC chip on the MB power circuit and wouldn't boot. I wrecked the MB trying to get the chip off so I'm now looking for a replacement MB (not to mention screen, keyboard). Ebay has an Acer Aspire 5741 that's going cheap and I was wondering if anyone knows if the MB from the 5741 would fit the frame of a 5740. If not, does anyone have a list of compatible motherboards for that frame? The processor is an intel i5. Grateful for help.

Well, a little research tells me the 5741 won't fit - usb's are different, dimensions are different. Maybe some of the other 5000 series might fit.
