Around what holiday time (black friday, cyber monday, xmas) is the best time to buy laptops? Right now dell has some deals on a few laptops i am looking at, but i dont now if i should jump on the deal or wait it up. I dont need a new laptop until the end of the January so i got plenty of time

If you see something you want, getting it now is probably fine. The main reason a lot of people would like to wait is that they hope that by the end of January, notebooks with Intel's next generation of processors (Sandy Bridge) will be out, so you could either look over those, or that prices on current tech (which will then be obsolete) would go down.

Computer hardware will always get cheaper and more powerful, even with the holiday sales / discounts. The right time to buy is when you need a laptop, like the price, and cannot afford to wait any longer.

A good deal on a laptop will remain a good deal when you bought it, even if the price drops 3 months down the road.
