From what I've read, it's not recommended: slow and power hungry.

Boo - looks good I may have to pick a few of these up. I would use as a 2nd to 128SSD's -- not quite the capacity you will have but should be enough until they come out with 1TB laptop drives.

The free shipping in my experience with Eggshipping or whatever they call the free shpping is a PITA. I have several sets of ram for my mini's in route ---- they shipped on Monday from CA to CA and are still in route.... LMAO. I called newegg and they apparently use DHL then DHL in this case left them with UPS -- and then they show left with USPS. Needless to say I'll pay a few bucks more next time to ensure that I get my items.

I picked up two of these...1TB for 119.99 and no need to send in a rebate form. Also, I picked up one of the 1TB version with the 32MB cache for $129.99 when Newegg.com had it on sale. Still tempted to to pick up one of the Fantom...It has a WD drive inside.

So far, the Cavalry has been AWESOME.

    Correct.

It can make a good external drive though if you're not worried about battery life.

@built: I prefer Seagate drives, but any drive that large at that price is a good deal. Just get two, slap them into a mirrored RAID enclosure and have at it.
