As the title... What it's like inside Dell notebooks from Dell Outlet Online Store | Dell.com/community :D

From the buyer... I received my DELL XPS 9570 which I bought from Dell Outlet online store this afternoon. I ran it for 10 minutes, just browsing the internet and install a couple of software. I thought it kind of hot, so I flipped the laptop over, removes bottom screws to take a quick look. What I discovered can only be said in one word " disgusting ".

Who knows what kind of diseases these dust and hair can carry ?

Dell, please answer me. Do you take responsibility for this ? Or I have to take this laptop to a lab get a result and also a lawyer?

For anyone who about to purchase a computer from their Outlet store. Please open it and make sure you don't have the same experience I did.

I don't know what it's like in Europe, but over in the States when you buy a used vehicle, they usually try to make the buyer feel a little confident with their "20 point inspection" or "Used Vehicle Certification."

Was this an authorized Dell resale or is it just a marketplace where people can sell anything they want? If it is an authorized Dell sale, do they even pretend to have some sort of inspection or certification?

And this, folks, is why you don't buy used 2nd hand computers from Dell. Hell don't buy 2nd computers from ANYONE except people who take pictures of the insides and condition of the laptop for you, and timestamp it with their name and date for proof.

If you need a BGA dellbook for office work, buy new in box only.

I bought my last ever laptop from Dell early 2013 (Brand new, one and only). I expect authorized Dell's Outlet store from what I can read in the link. I'm pretty sure only Dell can throw out returned notebooks in their own Outlet stores (And I'm sure you know WHY many of the customers return it to Dell in firstplace). If this above is their QC... This just follow same direction/pattern as their brand new 100C mess shipped from China.

This is exactly why I buy used laptops. I know what I am looking for and how to test it on site.

Stuff like the picture above I leap for joy, as I just got justification to barter the asking price even further.

I dont buy things I know I cant fix, but removing hair is an easy win.

I've done pretty well with used and refurbs myself. My current machine (a Lenovo ThinkPad P70) was actually my first refurb (as opposed to used) and it was in pristine condition when I received it. It did turn out to have a subtle motherboard problem causing occasional data corruption under heavy I/O load that got fixed under warranty, but brand new gear can have that also and I had a hard time reproducing it under Windows because it only happened under heavier network load than I was easily able to generate that way (Linux has a much more efficient network stack that triggered it more easily).

It's always a good idea to inspect merchandise after purchase. The question is, did the person who found that mess inside contact Dell about it?

I bought 3 laptops from Dell Outlet over the past year, 1 refurb XPS 9350, 1 refurb Inspiron 7567- upgraded to 4K 7577 for free due to uneven core temps, and an XPS 9370. Mine were perfectly fine on the inside, I know because I opened them for upgrades. They looked brand new on the inside, dare I say mint condition. This is in the United States. I personally would continue buying from Dell's Outlet site as I've recommended it to others without issue as well.

Dell is pretty nice, just for two complaints of uneven core temps (still worked to spec, even new units had this issue) they upgraded my refurb 7567 to a max spec 7577. If you get a ****ty unit, complain and they will either give you a better deal/unit or a replacement that's good. I personally never saw anything as terrible as in that image but I know if I ever did Dell would take care of it quickly. I mean I'd also be pissed if I got what you got, but work with them they're usually very nice to deal with. In your case you’r image is a huge bargaining tool, as @TheReciever pointed out.

I've bought a number of laptops from the Dell Outlet and have not had any issues either. Not disputing, just a one off I think.

Just bought my M4800 from Dell Refurbished, laptop came flawless. I even opened it up to replace palm rest with fingerprint reader model, and inside was clean.

I've bought from Outlet for a long time, all my systems were clean.

Yeah I don't believe the story. I've purchased 100s of dell laptops from the outlet and never had anything remotely like that before.

I also returned my outlet 7590 due to overheating. I should have pulled the back off too...

I believe you 100% . I bought from dell outlet from when they had Alienware m15X series and i never encounter such things. All of the purchased laptops/desktops I bought don’t even come to a “ used “ looking condition, like you buy from eBay.

I am still currently buying from dell outlet.
