Very nice, unfortunately, all of the backpacks appear to be too small for my 9262.

    Unbelievably huge. ;)

For example, the rear end is 2.5 inches thick.

At any rate, nice find though. I'm sure someone will find it useful. :)

Nope, reading the reviews, it mentions that the 17" bags don't exactly fit 17" laptops.

I would like a bag that does not need to be ripped. :D

    I know it does. :)

I was actually hoping to get a good deal on the Swiss bags as they are supposed to be very well made.

I actually already have a bag, a Slappa Matrix
    [IMG]

It actually fits 2 17", which I will be bringing around tomorrow. Unfortunately, I only hope it will last, even though it's meant to carry up to 80 lbs.

Thank you very much though. :D

Swiss Gears are great..I have the Synergy for my 1530 :D :D

The Slappa is supposed to be fairly decent.

What about the Swiss Gear Pegasus or Maxxum? Those are 17" but supposed to be a bit oversized??

    Here is the Pegasus!

    http://www.amazon.com/PEGASUS-SwissGear-Wenger-Computer-Backpack/dp/B000FQ8E3Y

And no problem...I like looking at bags, myself :D :D :D

    Believe me, I've noticed. :)

I picked the Slappa because it was large, stylish and supposedly capable of withstanding heavy weights.

I also considered the Targus XL (previous bag is a Targus), and the Pegasus, but they both looked rather oversized.

Even at the discount it is absurd to pay so much for laptop bags. How much cost do you think actually went into the making of such bags?

Cost into making the bags...probably a few *Dollars and Cent's*...You know what?? I'm not to sure, I didn't think of the actual cost of making a bag, when posting the deal I found.

Swiss Gear is a good brand, a deal was found ~ therefore posted here in the Tech Bargains section of the forum! ;)

Researched the Slappa cases a little. They look real nice but their prices are crazy. $180 retail for a messenger bag  ? Way out of my price range. Don''t see the point either.

Cin - what do you think of the 17" Swiss Gear briefcase bag that they have?

Woah..That's some nice *change* for the Slappa....Though, it is a great bag. ;)

Is this the one you are referring to for the 17":
    http://www.amazon.com/Swiss-Gear-SA..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=17YBY6JHQN6BJJ9KHW2G

If so, I think it look's really nice..durable, roomy, and reliable..and for $31.98 for a briefcase bag..That's a great price ;) Are you pondering buying it?? :D

Yes thats the one. I really need a laptop bag. I want one that is cheap and is well padded, so my laptop doesn't get damaged. I am not looking for heavy duty use since I use my machine at home most of the time and travel with it only to the local cafe and my friends house. I don't need crazy amounts of space either. Just need to be able to carry the machine, laptop mouse and power adapter. I want a messenger or briefcase type bag. My limiting thing is I have a sleeve for my machine that fits the machine well with it's 9 cell battery. So in effect my machine is close to a 17" machine when being carried, so I am looking for 17" and up size bags. Well I guess I will open up another thread for this question...

Anyways, how does this bag compare in quality, padding, etc to the Swiss gear Synergy or Yukon? Thanks.

Ps - I love your posts in general and your deal posts. Keep up the good work.

BTW- are you getting a commission from Microsoft for every MS 5000 bluetooth mouse that you help to sell? JK :D

I actually think that one would work for you! :D

I also have the SwissGear Synergy..That backpack just *rocks* :D It's an awesome bag! I rely on it when packing my 1530, my 9 cell (and even my 6 cell)..my adapter, books or magazines, CD...whatever I may want to pack it with. There are all these really cool little compartments, also! :D

I think you may see just a little bit more padding in the Synergy. I have never seen the briefcase bag in person, however ~ from the reviews..and viewing it online = It just looks really nice! So, I would continue to keep that one in mind. Those deals at Amazon right now are very good! :D

I also have a MobileEdge Maddie Powers Cutebug Messenger Bag..LOVE it.
Now that one, has got great *padding* I would never need a sleeve for that one (it has core padding inside) ;)

Here is a page on amazon.com with some 17" Swissgear backpacks ;)
    http://www.testfreaks.com/netbooks/dell-inspiron-mini-12/

The Pegasus is a nice b.pack also:
    http://www.amazon.com/PEGASUS-Swiss...8E3Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1229548182&sr=8-1

Thank you for your nice compliments! ;) :D

And, maybe.maybe.not on me Pimpin' the MS Bluetooth 5000 for Microsoft!
It is a great mouse, BTW...hee hee  :p :D

There are usually good deals on the SwissGear's going most of the time, BTW. If you can't find it at amazon.com, there are plenty of other sites to check on the net! :D

Let me know if you need more help...I love searching for good deals, and accessories in general :D

My Slappa held up amazingly well over my 44 hours of travel. Checkpoints were a pain in the behind though, taking out three laptops for inspection takes really long.

Well... I finally got me a Swissgear Blue Maxxum, though, not from amazon.com since the retailer you posted doesn't sell to Canada. T_T

I did however, find a great price for them on ebay Here.

Apparently, they just don't sell in retails here. However, looking at every other swiss gear availible here (mostly older models by the looks of it), I'm pretty much sure that the Maxxum is the one I want. :D Best of all it's blue. My fav color. :D
