I would have been tempted too, but problem is that even if I had them these are I think 300ohm? So I would have needed a amp too. I dont have one, well I do I have my home theater receiver but I am pretty sure most audiophile would scoff at me saying it has low quality dac's or something because it is not a dedicated headphone amp.

I'll stick with the stuff that can be powered directly from my computer or device.

What rig do you have right now? I think I've found my end all headphones in a pair of Head-direct RE0, no amp needed, totally uncolored sound.

I have a $100 Sennheiser PC166 headset for my PC. Great headphones with boom mic. I snapped the cables out of the connector once, had someone from here repair it for me (small fee), and then broke it again. Just gave it to a friend of mine, and bought another pair. I hope I don't break these!

Before buying Sennheiser, you should read their warranty.
    It covers absolutely nothing

I am quite disappointed that my hd280's had the 2 year warranty included in the price, and it doesnt cover anything.
