So, I posted this thread in the HP Pavilion subforums, but I figure it won't be seen in there, and the coupon expires in a day so I'd like to get feedback quickly xD. Sorry if I'm not allowed to post the same topic in two places. If so, delete the other one please >.>

    Anyways:

So I got this coupon in an email from HP, but I can't get it to work. It's supposed to save you up to $380 on a dm4t when configured at or above $1,049.99, but even when I go above that price, the coupon code doesn't work for me.

    It's: NBB472576

Is this working for anyone? What am I doing wrong?

Maybe it's glitched or maybe they ran out. If it's not working properly they should be able to do it for you if you order through phone and mention your email and the code?

Edit: Found out your account has to be participating in the EPP or HPA programs.

^ Even my HPA account doesn't accept the coupon.

And Rengsey that was probably the instant savings, not the coupon code (since your config is also below the coupon's amount).

Remember, its " up to $380.00 off ". It did take the coupon though.

it also said something about a $649.99 starting price. i wasnt able to get that or the full $380 off. i was able to get $250 off. When i had an online chat with an HP sales rep, the only information they had was that the coupon was actually only good for $250 off, not $380. the couldnt tell me why the email said $380. its kind of infuriating. ive been waiting for a sale on the dm4t forever and now they tease me with a coupon lie.

^ EXACTLY HOW I'M FEELING. I was upset as hell for missing the 30% BCB twice in a row (just BARELY missing the 2nd one, and probably could've argued through Bing if I hadn't gone and canceled my order in a panicked frenzy). I thought this coupon was life finally cutting me some slack.

Very wrong. Warning: massive rant ahead.

I'm really upset with HP. If it wasn't for me loving the dm4t and absolutely needing it for college, I'd buy a completely different brand just because I hate their customer service. I spent an hour and a half arguing with a lady on the phone who said that the coupon doesn't work because you can't use coupons on top of instant rebates. First of all, how the hell was I supposed to make that assumption. Second of all, the instant rebates are automatic; in my knowledge of HP coupons, if a coupon is not stackable with a rebate, then the coupon simply overrides the rebate. But the lady says no, that happens sometimes, not all the times, and thus that's why my coupon wouldn't go through. So I ask how I'm supposed to manually remove instant rebates (since they're automatic and such) and she claims that I'm supposed to purchase a computer model without an instant rebate.

Wt f lady. This says it's specifically for the dm4t.

So after I point that out to her, she changes her mind and says the coupon's invalid because it had a maximum usage limit thing which was reached already (which seems ridiculous since I used it only 6 hours after the email was sent out; really, if they expected it to be gone that fast they should put something on the email saying so rather than "Offer ends 7/17", implying that I had all the time I wanted until the 17th). Whatever. I can kind of buy this, though I still heartily disagree with it.

But then I get a message back from HP about the email I sent, saying that the reason it's invalid is that it was only applicable for EPP/HPA accounts (which is also not advertised on the coupon, and also is not true because I tried it on my HPA account).

So not only are both of them incredibly inconsistent in their response, but the coupon itself seems to be insanely false advertisement. Not to mention, all this communication takes for-freaking-ever, I was put on hold for a good half hour total time, and all they could give me was an extra $100 off including the rebates. I caved. I'm so fed up with stalking Bing's CB, and regretting canceling that order, and then stalking Bing some more, and then fighting with these incompetent sales representatives, and ffs I just want my laptop damnit. So I bought it. Whatever.

Gahhhhhh. I just need a hug and some ice cream.

it works with the total being over 1049 but it might have to be after any EPP discounts or maybe instant rebates first. i got it to work with EPP with msrp being like 1,100 then epp discount 1050 then 250 off making it 800 dollars. best of luck! and going to corporateperks.com helps getting to EPP

Hmmm. I tried it again on the HPA account but no luck. I don't have an EPP one to give a try with. But I also thought that EPP purchases weren't customizable? Oh well. Urfhhffs.

Nah, I mean, I'm in college. I have an email signed up through HPA, but even with that it didn't work. And I actually just found out one of my relatives has an EPP account but I'm too lazy to ask him to do anything about it. I'm tired of dealing with HP lol. I've already purchased, cancelled, and repurchased (now too late to cancel). I think my credit card statement is going to go crazy if I purchase a 3rd time, and then return the 2nd one after it's shipped. And I'll go crazy. So I think I'm just gonna give up and be done with it. At most, I'd save a maximum of $300 more if I could get everything the way I want it to be, but at this point, it's not worth my mental insanity. It's summer. I'mma just relax. :3

too late. im on it now. the integrated is probably fine for what i need, any games i'll play are $10 2yr old games. i just figure since they're switchable and dont hurt batt life too much, i might as well. but whatever. its done.
