It is one key that you are allowed three concurrent activations of. You cannot sell the remaining ones and to sell the software you must remove all installations of it.

Nice! Check your EULA though as you might technically be only limited to using it for work related things, like that stops most people.

Nice! My college charges 78$ for a copy for students (1 license) :( I thought the fact that I can use it on up to 3 pcs made up for the small price difference. Plus it is retail meaning I can uninstall it and move it to a different pc, which you can't do with OEMs such as academic licenses.

Ok, I'm not a student so what does this mean? Is there a difference between this and a normal version?

    Thanks

This is HOME and student, I think you just aren't allowed to use this in a 'work' setting.

Or if you need to buy Office and maybe Windows 7 consider getting the TechNet Standard subscription for $199, and can usually find 10-20% off coupons. It gives you access to all Microsoft software, including Office and Windows, with ten keys for each version of the software (i.e. Home Premium, Professional, Ultra, etc) and ten activations for each key.

Buy, Renew or Upgrade Your TechNet Subscription

edit: MS recently changed the number of keys with the "standard" package to two with ten activations each.
