Would this work with the Gateway P7801? I think it would end up covering the vents any ideas?

lol I may want these if they are tall enough. I use some thick hotel registry books to prop up my W90 right now, these would probably be a better solution.

though looks like it uses adhesive to stick to the laptop?? Id prefer not to do that and just find some none slip pads like they use for the bottom.

I just ordered them but this is the part I do not like:

I probably would have rather paid $2 more to save myself who knows how much spam.

Oh Adhesive...hmmm..I'm gonna call and confirm. I wouldn't want to use adhesive on my lappy, at all.

All you get is their daily e-mails showing whats on special... ;) I ordered a few things from meritline.com...never had any troubles. And, I like the daily e-mail deals...it's just the same to me as receiving newegg's, buy.com, and amazons.. ;)

im almost postive what I said before about the adhesive, you can tell with the pictures that the top part has a peel off adhesive cover, and the directions tell you to tear it off, so its meant to stick to your notebook but I think that the top piece snaps in/out of the ball joint.

Im going to not use the adhesive and hope it stays in place well, if it does not stay in place but the ball is the right size for me then I would be willing to use some Velcro or something to hold it on but it needs to be like a bit over an inch tall to substitute for my books :D I doubt its that big.

I got my balls yesterday, came in while I was asleep so I didnt actually get them till this morning when I got off work.

I got black ones :p aya

Nothing special about them at all, generic plastic, hollow.

It has some Velcro on the bottom unit already attached, then it has a small piece of Velcro with a sticky back to put on your computer.

As I figured its not quite as tall/large as I had wanted as I like a pretty nice tilt to my laptop but I am still going to go ahead and attach them later tonight at work and take pictures and report back.

How are yours working out? Mine...have not arrived :( I have no idea where they are..I left for work this am..and my neighbor stopped me and gave me what I thought were the Cooling Balls ~ but it was my Neoprene Sleeve I ordered from Meritline (I ordered 3 things from them when I ordered the Cooling Balls), and the Neoprene Sleeve was already mis-delivered.. :(

    Keeping faith...they will show up...

    Cin ;) :)

Here is what is inside the little package:

    From Misc
the 2 half sphere's with Velcro already glued on, and the two velcro pads with a sticky back on them. Mine had one of the adhesive backs to the Velcro put on only half of it so lost some of the "sticky" on that one but it should be fine.

I thought it was supposed to come with some little anti slip pads to sit these on top of but mine did not have them. Or who ever opened my package for me lost them.

The Asus W90 has these little stubs for feet on the back so I could not put the Velcro on the feet but next to them instead, lose a bit of height but that means if I dont use the cool balls the velcro attached wont interfere with the rubber feet. The balls I just sat there for size reference.

    Here they are attached

And here it is in action:

I did not get these for cooling, the W90 has phenominal stock cooling, it keeps dual 4870's and a quad core cpu overclocked cooler than most laptops keep lesser components, I wanted the tilt I need to make it easier to type and rest my hands. Its working well for me, these are small and light so they can go in my bag.

Laptop wont slide around as the front rubber feet hold it in place, but if I pick up the front I can easily slide the unit into place on my hard desk.

    Was definitely worth $2

I cant believe I forgot about these, mine came in the mail but I might try cutting them down lower, it's a bit too tall for my taste so they are off for now
