That is a sick deal, especially with the three-year warranty and 9-cell battery. The RAM is a cheap aftermarket upgrade and so is the hard drive.

allfiredup you're really not helping my craving to buy a new laptop. :p Something else people might consider is M2400 as it's nearly the same as the E6400 with a better GPU. There are still lot of them with LED screens at decent prices as were the E6400 are becoming kind of slim.

Well the E6400 is going to be a much better build quality than the U330 and better SR. Biggest downside is the weight increase, probably at least a pound more. The E6400 has a matte screen (which is a must for me) while the U330 and SR both have glossy screens. E6400 screen also comes in WXGA+ if you need more pixels. Have you consider the E4300?

the e4300 WAS on option. I read so many bad things about it and it's soo pricey. The e6400 weight is what is holding me back, I was looking for something portable. The u330 is pretty solid, why you say it has worse build quality? also high-end sony's usually have very good build quality, something dell is not know for.
