It could be pricing error. If it is, chances are it won't ship, and you'll get a refund. If you really won't one, I would go for it, and use PayPal and/or a credit card for buyer protection.

Heh, I don't have the cash right now. It's just that when I do in a couple of months, I'd like it.

It seems pretty legit, with the pricing appropriate for an older generation CPU/GPU. The P-series Core2Duos are more efficient/powerful, and the 9-series nvidia GPUs are on a smaller die meaning more efficient/powerful. It sounds like a pretty good deal, but there are better ones out there with current-gen hardware.

Actually, I slightly take that back. I feel like there will be more systems with similar specs and pricing as newer lines come out over the next few months and distributors need to clear inventory. It is a really nice looking deal right now, though you say that you won't be buying for a couple months, so I'd wait and see what else shows, because options make the best deals even juicier.

A hundred more dollars gets you the GX630. It's smaller and has the 9600M GT DDR3, but the CPU isn't as good (AMD processor). I highly advise looking in the MSI subforum about the GX700; I've read some bad things about the older MSI notebooks.

Wow, that seems like a great deal. Never used an MSI before, any major known hw/fw/sw fiascos?

I don't see it, its $700 for a midrange gaming notebook. Is it really that good of a deal? Months ago those gateways with the 8800s were going for ~1000, and those were much better performers, no?
