Yes, you read correctly. Download either the 32- or 64-bit version of Windows 7 Enterprise for free and use it for 90 days. This is an offer with no commitments... the copy is yours to use however you wish for three months, free of charge.

Please keep in mind that this is the full version of the OS, not a crippled demo.

    Enjoy!

Nothing in this life is truly free. Aside from that, when companies offer a trial period of their software, its usually done so with reduced functionality. With Microsoft's offer, you get the whole OS, no strings attached for 90 days.

90 days is the default for all Windows 7 and Vista variants when you dont activate them. If anything you can download window 7 ultimate and trial that for 90 days without an activation key, no strings attached.

    You bet! =)

Wrong. The default activation period for any variant of Windows Vista is 30 days. After the 30-day grace period in which you do not activate your OS install, Vista goes into a reduced funtionality mode. You can read more at the following link:

    Activating the Windows Vista OS

Wrong again. Seriously, a quick visit to Microsoft's website clearly states the following:

"Is activation required? Yes. You have 30 days after installing Windows to activate it online or by telephone. When Windows is activated, you'll be able to use every feature of Windows."

Taken from here: Activating Windows: Frequently Asked Questions

Keep in mind that this applies to all versions of Windows 7, save for the Enterprise edition as mentioned earlier. In any case, the point is that Microsoft allows for a 30 day trial period of all their operating systems. After that, the OS is reduced in functionality until it is activated.

And lest I forget, there is no official download of a retail version of Windows 7 that allows you to "trial" the OS at the moment. But, feel free to provide a link if you know otherwise.

^ you do know that you can re-arm (reset) the Win 7/Vista activation countdown up to 3 times?

    30 days x 3 rearms = 90 days...
