Is it just me or have dell laptops realy jumped in price? XPS m1330's used to start at $999. Now they start at $1499. A 50% increase? That's insane isn't it? Have they released some kind of super coupons to combat this or something or have dell laptops become the new ferrari's of the laptop business?

and now the price of the xps m1330 is at 899.... these are all starting prices... what in the world is dell doing?

I checked the specs on the m1330 when it said it start at 1499 and they were the exact same semi-crappy specs.... well, good specs but the dv4 has better specs for a much cheaper price...

For about 5 minutes dells site completely changed... even there customization page changed. And the prices were way higher. Looked like Apple prices for upgrades and base prices. The dell xps m 1330 was priced at 1499 with a $500 128 SSD option which isn't there anymore.. my guess some techie accidently pressed the wrong button for a few minutes before going back...

My guess, either i'm insane or dell is upgrading their laptop lines.

the reason xps lines are so expensive is becuz dell has to repair their laptops every 3 months, tthat just runs up the retail prices.

No, Australian dollars are basically equal to American dollars. It's virtually 1:1. Foreign countries just get totally screwed..

I thought the price of most things in Australia were double what they cost here. I know one of my family members went to Australia and she stated that alot of the things here were close to double the cost in the States.

It isn't double the currency in Australia, but it certainly isn't 1:1. Not even close.

Canada on the other hand, is practically 1:1 now with the USD. It is true that if you aren't in the states you get screwed pricewise.

I know not double the currency but the prices are more expensive for certain items compared to how they are in the states. Yea people in canada get the shaft on prices from dell.

Around one or two months ago, it was like 1AUD for 95US cents, now its down to like 80. But even when it was 1 to 95, our prices were still much higher, so yes, foreign countries do get boned. :(
