Is this a good deal from Dell outlet? Seemed almost too good, but still had to get it

Just pulled the trigger on a Dell E1405 Laptop from dell outlet as a scratch and dent.

    Specs:

    Memory
    2 GB DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz (2 DIMMs)

Hard Disk Drive 120 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)

    Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5600 (2MB Cache/1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)

8X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability

    Intel Pro Wireless 3945
    Internal NIC/56K Modem
    Bluetooth Wireless Card

    14.1 inch WXGA+ Notebook Screen

    9 Cell Primary Battery

For a total price of $829

I priced a similar laptop on dell's website and the total came to over $1400. The core2duo, 2gigs of ram, upgraded battery, it all adds up!

I remember reading other people's comments on scratch and dent - that is really varies, and there is a certain amount of luck. You might get something that has a minor imperfection, or sometimes it looks totaled in a wreck.

You'll probably be all right, that is a really good deal you got. But it can be hit-or-miss.

I assume you've read Dell's disclaimer about this class of Outlet notebook.

if you get one that is really in a bad condition they show you what is acceptable. If something is cracked that is not acceptable and they will send you a replacement

Most scratch and dents from the outlet come in pretty good shape. I don't think they will send you a broken laptop

Really? Care to share how? It was coming out to $1450 when I priced it out, given that was without coupons, but even with a 25% off coupon, that still puts it over 1100.

Anyways, thanks for the warnings. I dont really care about anything with the laptop as long as it works properly, and in the event it doesnt, im sure I can return it.
