Dell just renewed a 20% coupon for another 4000 uses:

    TMLZVFQ44WR72D

Works on any Inspirion Laptop over $999.99

It slightly trumpts the $200 off $1000 offer they had yesterday.

I picked up the following for $830.00
Free ship, call them with your business info to remove tax (they credit later)

    Inspirion e1505 (same as 6400)
    Core 2 Duo 1.66
    512MB
    60GB SATA
    256MB ATI X1400
1680x1044 15.4" display (upgraded higher res than normal 15.4")

A few nice things to note:

256MB X1400 Video card is better than the GeForce they offer which is more expensive
Full support for all Vista needs
    True 64-bit compatible
Runs Mac OS X perfectly (I'm a Apple guy typically)
Internal MiniPCI for later expansion (think 802.11n, bluetooth etc).

Personally I wouldn't upgrade the wireless at this time. They want something crazy for the bluetooth ($50) and another $50 for draft 802.11n. $219 I believe for both!!!!!

The only thing this computer doesn't have that I'm really sad about is a built in webcam. I'm on the road a lot and would have liked to see this.

Oh well, can't have it all.

I couldn't get it to work. IT says that the coupon is invalid.

The 1390 Dell wireless detects as AirPort, but the Sigmatel 9200 sound card doesn't have drivers .. so no sound. Also, there is no driver for the x1400 at the moment either, so no Core Image/Quartz Extreme.
