I recently came across this laptop and I thought I caught a great deal. Especially with the %5 coupon I found, it was too good to be true.

Here is the laptop on Lenovo website.
    https://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-700-series/Ideapad-720S-14/p/81BD001QUS

Here is the %5 off coupon I found. Tested yesterday (2/4/18) and it was working fine.

Then I got disappointing facts, one after another.

First, it comes with 8GB Ram, one single module since there is only one Ram Slot available. So, in order to upgrade the Ram to 16GB, I have to get rid of that 8GB module and purchase one single 16GB Ram module.

Then I learned that it doesn't have a regular 2.5 HDD bay, so I cannot install a second drive.

Well, I don't think I am interested in this unit after these information I have discovered. However, it still might be a very good deal for some of you. Check the specification, check the price and with the addition of %5 off coupon, this looks like a laptop that would make many people happy.

I attached a spec sheet as well.

I'm interested in it too. Has anyone used it yet? Are there any coil whine problems?

Purchased this laptop for the wife a couple months ago and it's been great for her use. No coil whine issues, runs very cool under load and fans are kept to a minimum/silent under normal use. I got her the i5, 256gb and 8gb option. I also only paid $749 at Microcenter which was an amazing deal for the specs/size/weight of the laptop. The IPS screen is very good, and I gave it a 72Hz overclock for a bit more fluidity while using it.

Thanks for sharing. Is it possible to get a Matte finish IPS screen for this model? If the screen wasn't glossy then it would be perfect for me.

Haven't seen one, it's not a terrible gloss finish.
