Not bad, HP really has some good deals recently. The HDX 16t deal was even better though.

And I really abhor those glossy displays with plastic overlays...

    But good deal nevertheless!

Sweet deal. I'm going to wait for Windows 7 before I buy another lappy. :D

    Cin,
Rodknee brings up a good point. Is this eligible for the free Win 7 upgrade?

Absolutely my friend. After MS announced the official W7 release date, the eligibility date for the free upgrade was in July. So if you're interested in this lappy buy it now and you'll qualify for the upgrade, but only for the version that came with your laptop.

I was thinking....which is a rare feat at times. :D

That's a lot of computer for the price. If W7 was already released I would have been all over this deal even though I don't need another laptop. Cin sorry to hear your not feeling well, hope it's not the dreaded H1N1 cause that would suck. On another forum one of the members there got it along with his wife, ouch.

Thanks Rodknee and Cin. This laptop looks interesting. I have never had a machine over 15.4". I think this would be a shock. Cool desktop replacement in tight quarters.

That's whole lot of computer for that price...Woah..its a desklappy! :D
Full of power! ;) (Yeah, I hope to be feelin' at 100% soon..This is kind of bad for me to feel this way, hopin my temp' is down lower by tomorrow morning & I hope it's not *that* either..Thank you for your thoughts. ;)

NP! I've never ever had a lappy over 15.4" so I can't imagine what it would be like going up to that size! Are you going to *strongly* consider this..or wait it out for a bit?

If you're looking for a nice desktop replacement that is all around good, it's not a bad option, the 1080p screen is what had me from when I first saw it back in July though, that was my main concern in a new computer.

I only paid 1145 for mine when I got it, with nevada tax included.

As Cin said this is truly a desktop replacement and a nice one at that. Previous to this deal the best I could get was $400 off the price. This is a hi-res screen and so 1080p should look amazing, IF your into watching Blu-Ray movies. It has a nice mid range GPU for games as well. I believe the screen uses the 16:9 aspect ratio which brings it to 18.4".

The other computer that intrigues me is the new 19" Dell all in one. The only negative is that you can't customize it. This 18" HP lappy is one solid smoking deal.

I think I will hold off for a bit. The price for this model is obviously great, but I think it is over what I want to spend. Also the Nvidia GPU is something I want to stay away from, I want Integrated.
