    i saw this deal at best buy but i do not have enough expert with sony!so as i saw before some sites buy old model with good configuration with low price like dell inspiron 6400!
    can any one of expert here told me that right or wrong!
    VGN-AR605E is this model from sony is old!
    cuz i found great deal for it with good specification:
    c2d:1.8
    gpu:256 nividia
    ram:1g
    hard:120g
    17'' wxga
    =1000$ before taxes
    is it old model from sony so i didnt find it in their official site sony.com!

    Well, it's not that old, it's just a low end model in the AR series. Nothing wrong with it, and a nice price i say. I do recommend replacing the ram with 2Gb for better Vista performance, but otherwise this is a nice an fully Santa Rosa notebook.

    is it better than the new hp dv9700t?
    cuz i note that sony use better gpu than hp that only the diffrence.

    what gpu does the ar use? as far as i know, the hp has the better gpu.

    I thought it used the 8600Gt but most come with the base 8400GT.

    sony vaio use NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT and hp use in dv9700t 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS
    isnt gt better than gs?
