I haven't used the J2 before, but the original JBuds weren't nothing special. They were not $50 earbuds like Amazon would like you believe. But for $10 (plus a $5 Amazon MP3 credit) they were as good as your average $10 earbuds. Sound quality is so-so. Build quality is low (cheap plastic). All that said, JLabs has GREAT support. My right earbud went out after a few months and I contacted them about it and they sent a free replacement.

I just got (literally) the $10 Cyber Monday Zune earbuds that Newegg had and they are much better in both quality and sound.

I tried a pair of these after my last pair got chewed up by the riding mower. These don't 'isolate' sound nearly as well as others I have owned. So if you plan to wear these in noisy areas or while mowing they are not that good.
