just go to dell and customize it how you want, then when you go to buy it there should be a box for the coupon number
enter it there and it should add in the deduction

Without getting it on ebay you'd have to find a very generous person who has one. I'm getting it off of ebay. I'm guessing it's gonna cost 70-80 bucks. It sucks but it's the only way I can get the pricing I want on the unit I want.

I called CS and sales dept at Dell today. I begged for a coupon code but they wouldn't budge. I recently changed my email address and didn't update my Dell profile with the new address. Who knows, maybe they sent me an email with a 40% code and I can't view it. I told them this but they didn't care. They said it could be sent via regular mail or email. If there is a generous person out there who would like to share their 40% off code, PM me. A reward is offered. :)

I just read that these are one time use coupons... so I would like to ask that if anyone on this forum has this coupon and does not need it to please share it with me. I have been looking forward to purchasing a laptop for school, but have not been able to find a well priced one. Thanks in advance =)!

Well after some thinking I have decided to list the coupon on ebay since that would be like giving away money.I'll tell you guys that the reserve is $80, since it will save you anywhere from $400 to over $1500 on a specced out E1705. Sorry for making you guess numbers, but you can check it out here, and know that I'll send the code right after I get the payment.

    Thanks!

why bother buying a coupon unless you don't want to spend upwards of $1200 because now you can get nearly %43 off without the **** coupon.

    Code:

WIll stack with the 750 Off 1999.00 coupon code 1CS4WZBB5$LVSS
$100 coupon code: 43shs371z9m09r expires May 1 5:59 am CST

I config'd a system for 2000.00 exactly and both the 750 and the 100 worked.. use the 750 first

My deal is I really didn't want to spend $1200 but now that I look at it, for all the extras it might just be worth it in the end. I mean it would be nice to get a base one for like $800 or so but the coupons on ebay are going for stupid amounts which is basically forcing me to spend more, but of course I will get a HELL of a lot more too.

hmm... I think he meant .. tell us the number you were thinking of??? :D Why do you have to wait for the coupon to sell on ebay to tell us the number you are thinking of :D

I believe I was closest w/o going over (I guessed 6). If this was the price is right, I'd be the big winner. Maybe you could give me part of the coupon code??? Ha.

Wow, thank you for posting that additional $100 coupon code. I also wanted one around the $2k mark and with now being able to take $850 off the price, I saved more than if I used the 40% coupon. Got my order in this morning for out the door cost of $1267. Thanks!

For me the final price is what I have to get by the wife. The 450 off 1499 still left it too high. If I get a 1300 laptop it's only 780 with the 40%. That's where it comes in handy.

How often does that stackable $100 off $2000 deal come around? (Inconjunction with the -$750 off $2000... these seem to be really popular recently).

    almost never.

keep in mind dell changes the price of all of their components every day. I mean so
$100 more off the laptop might mean it actually costs $100 more total because the 7800 go is 50 more and so is the uxga screen...

or 1 gb costs 120 instead of 80.

all in all the most popular configuration doesnt really change in price. the game you have to play is not putting money into dells rip offs and just buy whats a deal.

Geesh, not a very giving thread now, is it...??
Here's a code I got through my company. Not sure if you can use it, but I'm willing to share it so you can try...

    Coupon code: W517T807XLJ6TD
Hope it helps. Maybe you don't need a coupon code for the deal they mentioned, but I'm not sure.

Where's everyone else on this? They mention the coupon and then don't share the code when you ask for it....???
    :-(
