Looks like a deal, seagate notebook hdd for $70+tax after rebate.

The information link says that it's 5400rpm, but googled it and found out that it's only 4200rpm. This is not the first time I see items listed with incorrect info, but is there a trend of misinfo to lure ppl who aren't pay attention?

Well, the picture of the box clearly says "5400 RPM", so I'm going to wager that it is indeed a 5400RPM drive.
So although I have seen some inaccuracies in Best Buy's information before, I don't think this is one of them. -
