    Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. Thanks for all your reviews and info. It's been very helpful to me. In today's paper, I saw that Circuit City was closing out a laptop. The deal is instore purchase only. You won't find squat via their website and the reps at the 800 number were unhelpful this morning. But if you call your local store, they will check availability for you. If you are a creative searcher, you can also see availability at the website. But it's a hassle.

They're closing out the HP-Compaq M2305. $499.99 after $300 mail-in rebate. This deal also included a free printer/scanner and router. I had been considering buying another Toshiba. But after chewing on it, we decided to go with this deal today. It was just too good to pass up. We're basic web users, not gamers. It has everything we need. AMD processors have performed faithfully in our past.

Though I am not an expert techie by any means, here are some specs...

Includes 60GB hard drive, 512 DDR, 1.6Ghz processor, 802.11 wireless, 1 PCMIA slot, 2 USB ports. 15" screen (not widescreen format, just FYI). Another pro is they included the disks for the OS and software which was not the case with my Toshiba. Warranty 12 mos parts/labor.

Included with this deal we received another $150 worth of free goodies: Epson CX3810 all-in-one printer/scanner and a D-Link DI24 Wireless-G router, both of which I am pleased with.

By the way, you'll have to have the cash to pay up front and then wait for the mail in rebate on this deal. We spent about a $1K today. But we will get it all back and end up spending about $550 for the whole package in the end. We bought a Toshiba Satellite a couple of months ago and Circuit City was prompt with the rebate. It was easy to track. No sweat.

Hope this helps someone else. I didn't see it mentioned in this folder.

    Take care! :)

Circuit City has a repeat 3 day sale 12/15/05 - 12/17/05 onthe this laptap.
The Epson CX3810 all-in-one printer/scanner and a D-Link DI24 Wireless-G router are included free after rebate. Sounds like a good deal but I would appreciate any comments on laptop's reliability and performance. Thanks.

Pretty smokin deal if you ask me. Yeah a Pentium-M would have been better, 80-100GB would be better. But for the price and the included extras! Its a deal! But I still think I'll pass :p Even though the X200, Medi-Card Reader and S-Video out are three of my top requierments.
