So I've narrowed down the type of laptop I want to get for school between these three. Anyone have any suggestions on where to look for the best deal on these?

Check out the Dell Coupons on this site. :) Usually they are pretty significant. Other than that, see if any of the companies have deals with your work or school, or any sales at the moment....

    Hope this helps! :)

Good luck finding a good deal on the Dell D630...coupons don't come around often.

However, if you go through Live.com and search for a D630 and it finds you a link to ebay through the advertising on the site, you can get cashback from Microsoft. The amount varies...before it was 30%, I just searched and now its up to 17% back - might be worth looking into.

Vostro 1400 is discontinued. Someone selling here or on Ebay would be the best places to obtain one.

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

Minger how exactly does that Live.com thing work? It seems to good to be true..

    cause a 800 D630 with 19% means $152 off? Wow.. I'm surprised I didn't know about this

it does seem too good to be true. but if you want cheap D630 w/ standard Dell warranty then buying it off eBay should be your best bet.

I bought XPS M1330 on eBay and saved $249 on it getting it for $623. Not bad. Have to wait 60 days to get the cash back though.

I ended up getting a Dell D630 from Ebay from a regular auction for $511. It has 1.80 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3 GB of ram, 80 GB 5400rpm hard drive. It has wireless 802.11G, and a DVD Burner. Has original XP and Vista business CDs.

    Was this a decent deal?

Sounds like it. As long as it is in good condition. :D
