I need a new LCD screen, i'll really only be using it for photo editing.
It needs to have a 1600x900 or 1680x1050 resolution or better preferably and is 20" or bigger.

So, within those specs has any one seen any deals on something like that?

There is a woot off going on and I'm sure their will be a ton on there, woot.com

Keep an eye on buy.com They have refurbed HP's all the time that are really good deals.

How serious are you about your editing? To be honest for photo work you need a quality monitor, not something you typically find deals on but every now again one the Dell's will pop up, but it still isn't going to be cheap. Bottom line is it's really hard to find a good IPSP monitor for cheap.

I just watch Slickdeals.net. They usually have two or three monitors make the frontpage each week. What are you looking to spend though? Just for reference the good deal right now seems to be around $100 for 20", $140 for a 22" and $170 for a 23". And boomhower is probably right about getting something other than TN panel if you are really serious about photo editing. However, a decent TN panel would still be an upgrade over most laptop screens.

EDIT: You posted while I was typing.

There is a Acer LCD at costco for $190:

    24" wide screen
    1920x1080 resolution
    2ms response time

It is a great screen for the money plus you get costco warranty.

I recently picked up a 19" Viewsonic VX1962 VM (1680x1050 resolution) for $139 at Amazon.com with free shipping. It has super fast response times and very nice color palette.

The Dell U2410 was on sale just a few days ago. Its one of the few "cheap" monitors suitable for professional editing.

I think basically everything above is a TN panel, not suitable for pro editing. Since you did say its for photo editing that to me means you know the difference between normal cheap monitors and something that can accurately display colors.

Mainly IPS or something vs TN.

Here is the link to the deal but its expired now: http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/32182/dell-u2410-24-ultrasharp-ips-lcd-monitor-449

Im not a high roller or anything but I forked out the dough for 3 of them and it was worth it since they will last so long.

I had a bad experience with them and Dell CS since I got them when they were new, but now they have added a couple of revisions to fix the problems Rev 00 had.

Your even sporting the Photoshop Avatar, you gotta get an IPS panel :D

Yeah I thought not bad (Plus, 5% Bing CB & 3% Dell DPA if he wanted) the other one appears nice, also!

....and I tried to stay within his price point, since he stated he wanted to spend under $180.

Boils down to his choice! :)

Dell also had the Samsung 2333SW (23 inch) for $170 with wireless keyboard and mouse a few days ago. It has since expired, but they have had that monitor deal several times now so I would expect them to run it again. Not sure how it compares to the Dell though. I have often read Samsung makes better monitors, but have nothing to back that up with. I can say however having the very similar Samsung 2333HD (includes TV tuner) that I am quite happy with it.
