I just noticed at Lenovo.com, if you configure a T520 with DOS, the base system is $520 with a coupon code.

Lenovo - ThinkPad laptops with DOS

Go to T520, and it says
which brings the price down to $520. If you configure the T420, it is $496. Enjoy!
It is a friggin' steal, I really wish I had the money!

Typically, the eCoupons didn't apply to the DOS-only models, negating any price difference. Seeing as this code works, though, it's a steal for those with the OS already :)

Just tried it. The coupon didn't work. Guess Lenovo remove it from the DOS laptops. :(

I just checked and you're right. Sorry about that. :( I guess Lenovo does read these boards. :D

LOL. I like it. First page up front and center "What is DOS?"

I guess the younger crowd probably doesn't have a clue! Too bad the coupon code doesn't work.

But why not just sell it without an OS?

Just brings back bad flashbacks of emm386 and trying to get as close to 640KB of space for DOS as you could. Pushing everything into the UMA as you could. I think I actually got it to 638KB with mouse and CD-ROM driver.

It's still at $620 although $496 would have been much better. I would have bought one at that price. :)
