You need to enable ICS or Bridging. (Bridging is recommended otherwise you can share your interent connection with your ethernet port). PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK FIREWALL SETTINGS AND FORWARD PORTS ON YOUR ROUTER.

Bridging is recommened on your setup apparently - Bridging XP (so you get an open NAT better to connect with players)

Otherwise ICS should work too - ICS Vista, ICS XP

Create a restore point if your worried about changing any settings. Additional troubleshooting: http://www.xboxlivetheguide.co.uk/XBoxLiveTheGuide2.php?department=FAQs

I personally use the wireless adapter as its less hassle to always have my computer off instead of wasting electricity sharing an internet connection. (But at £53 it is rather dear).

    Hope this helps.

I use the linksys gaming adapter (had it since the origional xbox). Id recomend that product over using your laptop and over even microsofts adapter because this way you can not only use it on every console now and in the next generation, but also for computers that dont have wireless.
