This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     my friend noticed that our university's web address just changed from (www) to (wwwm), and he seemed bothered about why it was the case. anyway, does any1 nkow the difference?

    It shouldn't mean anything significant, other than that, perhaps, the school has shifted to a different (perhaps a backup) server for the time being. According to the Wikipedia article on the World Wide Web, the use of the "www" prefix at the beginning of a url is a matter of preference, although "www" itself is typically associated with the http server located at a specific domain.

    I'd check to make sure that the IP for wwwm.school.edu still goes to an IP address that's registered to your school, but other than that, I wouldn't worry about it - might also call up the school's IT department to see what's up.
