    hi

I have a home network of a laptop and a desktop. How can I find out what sites have been visited on the laptop from the desktop?
Does it go in the users history that is logged in while laptop i bein used for net?
Is there a way to keep the laptop browing history private from the desktop?

    Thanks

One way to do that - if your router has a logging feature, you could turn that on and view pages that were loaded through the router. And then, in answer to your question which seems to be the exact opposite, you can make sure that the logging feature is turned off so you can't see what was loaded through the router.

You asked "Does it go in the users history that is logged in while laptop i bein used for net?" If I interpreted that question correctly, then yes, the history for each user's browsing is stored seperately in their own folder inside the Documents and Settings folder on the hard drive.

On that note. How do I change settings on the router since I no longer have a desktop attached to the router?

Yes, although I'm not sure if you want to avoid being logged, or want to log someone else now ^_^. There are a whole bunch of programs available. Most are fairly easy to get around if the person you're logging knows what they're doing. A good one that is almost impossible to get around is called Covenant Eyes. Google for some other options - I did a super quick search and came up with 225 million results.

Well, if you have your router settings set to allow changes from a wireless connection, you just have to enter the IP address of your router in your browser and it should open up (check the instructions that came with the router for the IP address - my router defaults to 192.168.1.1).

If your router won't allow changes to be made wirelessly, then you can always plug your laptop into the router.
