    would the type of router matter for gaming??

    i just mostly use my laptop for playing wow, and use my desktop for p2p or anything else.. im currently looking at the netgear wpn824...
    should i get this or the more expensive one..
    is it more expensive= better speeds??

    You need a router with low lag times. Which in most cases moves you up to a gigabit router (Dlink DGL-4300). The 824 is rated at 47mbps speed, which is avg for most mimo routers. In order to take advantage of the mimo speed you are required to have a matching wireless card. If you move larger files, higher throughput is an advantage.

    You will be smart to avoid anything 11n at this time.
