Ok, so I bought an Acer extensa 5420 (listed 5420g on the acer site) and Ive had it since september with no problems. Last week I got a horrible new virus that took over everything and my computer teacher had me delete the partition and install a new version of vista. I have installed Vista Business and everything is fine except my wireless connection. I downloaded the wlan drivers, atheros and broadcom from the acer site. The network adapter is shown on the device manager but the network controller has a yellow caution sign next to it. When I install the drivers, it says that the corresponding card is ejected/unplugged...Its an internal card and I have never taken this pc apart. Any suggestions on why the network controller says that? Oh and my signal up wifi switch doesnt light up and it always says wlan disabled????? Hardware or software? Please help!!!!

right click the device and choose uninstall.

Reboot, let windows redetect the device on restart. If possible, connect with a wired connection and allow windows to check windows update for the driver for the controller
