I just got my new DELL d610 yesterday and am having a weird issue. I have the IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 2200 which is working flawlessly when I am plugged in. However when on battery I am having the following issues:the web pages load extremely slowly or timeout and I only receive 10% of the messages sent to me on yahoo messenger. XP does not see any issue (I still get an excellent connection on the wifi tool). As soon as I plug back the power cord the problem disappears.

any idea of what the problem might be?

    Thanks

you need to go into the setting of your wireless card. you should find a setting that has to do with transmission power. I am guessing your drivers just tune this setting down to preserve power, so just crank it back up! if you're usining 802.11b/g the max will be 100W. (if memory serves)
