Ok so i finally was able to come home and play with my new dell 9300. Now first thing I did was format, using a copy of xp pro that i have. I had all the drivers on a separate disk already. One problem tho, even before I tried to format, i tried to log onto a wireless network in my house, I assume it was my neighbours, and it wasn't protected. So i had like 3 bars and signal quality was excellent but I counldnt connect to internet or msn. Why is that? When I'm at my friends house I can steal wireless easily with his dell, why not the people in my region? They're both g networks I'm trying to tap into, however when I use my ethernet it works fine.

Other question is what's up with my ethernet, I'm using azureus right and the ethernet cable is going directly into my laptop from the modem. When it starts up it says "Warning, UPnP mapping 'Incomming Peer Data Port (TCP/6881) has been reserved by 192.168.2.10'- please select a different port. And I can't get any greens only blues and yellow connections. I have a desktop that was briefly connected to download a program, could this be the problem? Not sure, cause there's port forwarding or firewalling going on, I disabled all of that.

Oh and for some reason when I use azereus and Pirate Bay torrents I always get an error. What gives?

    thanks all!

    Sorry to hear that jhwyung,
Well for one thing, please make sure you check before stealing internet. Its just not the best thing to do. We have discussed this already in previous threads so it doesnt need to be discussed anymore.
Your basic problem is that you might need to sign in or something on his network/internet. I just dont know what he has so i cant help you there and the wireless internet problem. There can be no internet going into the router and you can still get connected. What i would do is disable the local area connection in the connections properties, (right click on local area), and hit disable if its not already. Plug the ethernet in and enable it. Then right click again and hit repair and go from there. Can you even get on the internet at all?
And the reason your downloads arent working is because you probaly arent connected to the internet.

I just came back from my friends place and the wireless card does work. I have internet at home but it's not wireless, i've yet to buy a router and it's a snowing cats and dogs outside.
However, one problem I'm still having is that azereus can't connect to tracker files from Pirate Bay, I get connectiong error and then a timeout. anyone know how to get around this? Downloads from demonoid do work, but not from Pirate Bay for some reason

There might be a firewall from blocking it. Go into that softwares settings and look for firewall or just go into the windows firewall and go from there. Just disable every firewall frot he time being to see if that could be causing this issue.

There might be a setting in the downloaders settings, Maybe look around in there.
