I just downgraded from Vista to XP and now I'm havin wireless connection problem. I have HP dv9205ca and Linksys WRT54GX2 and have security settings runnin with easylink with WPA security or whatever it is :) Before when I had Vista wireless was runnin fine, no interuptions. Now it's constantly disconnecting and connecting every few min and when I look at connection the speed reaches maximum of 54 mb/s and it keeps on dropping to like 5.5/s then back up again.
So basically connecting and disconnecting evry few min and speeds keep on droppin and raising up all the time.

Look at your power settings. CP and Advanced port settings.

Do you have all of the necessary XP drivers and laptop system software for your laptop? Did HP provide them, or did you find them somewhere else?

Did you install the XP WPA/WPA2 hotfix?
