    wireless g vs. wireless n

    just got a new dell inspiron 1720 with wireless n card installed. i also ordered a router which i recieved today but it is for g technology. will it work? or do i need a n router? Thanks for any help!!

    Well you won't get the N speed. But the router should work with your card...its a Intel AGN card right?

    Yes tse727 is correct it will work but at g speeds 54Mbs.

    The great thing about N protocol is that since less than 5% of computers are currently equiped with it, you have a lot less chance of having you wireless signal busted by a neighbour.... at least for now :)
